A leader in the brain tumor and childhood cancer communities since their founding in 1991, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) funds game-changing research for a cure and equips families with financial relief, patient family education, and emotional support. The organization relies heavily on fundraising efforts to deliver on their mission of Care. Cure. Thrive. In March 2020, PBTF was forced to put all of their event-based fundraising on hold as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the organization pivoted fundraising efforts to online channels, the pandemic limited their ability to meet fundraising goals.
To ensure PBTF could continue to operate with full staff, the organization sought PPP assistance through their banking partner. PBTF was proactive and timely in preparing their materials, but their banking partner did not follow through resulting in them not receiving PPP funding.
PBTF’s volunteer leadership and senior staff took matters into their own hands, writing to banks across the nation asking for support. They were met with a prompt response from Hingham and willingness to help. Within 24 hours of receipt of their email, PBTF’s PPP application was underway and they would soon find out that it was accepted resulting in their receipt of PPP funding.
PBTF values their partnership with Hingham, the Bank’s hands-on approach to service, and their genuine appreciation for the organization’s mission.
